I have a SWF with e-learning content that I want to insert into a PDF. I need the SWF to pass along basic SCORM info (Unstarted, Started, Finished) via Javascript to my networked LMS (Learning Management System).

Can the SWF trigger JS commands through the PDF to communicate with the LMS? If so, does anyone have a basic model they may share?

Thanks in advance!

This article on embedding an SWF movie clip in a PDF might be of some assistance to you.

As for whether SWF can trigger JS commands through the PDF to communicate with LMS, I'm not sure, I'll try to get someone knowledge in this area to answer this question.
